CEN WS 82 on Virus sensor system for monitoring rotavirus, norovirus and hepatitis A virus in various types of water intended for human use - AquaVir

The proposal for a new CEN Workshop on a “Virus sensor system for monitoring rotavirus, norovirus and hepatitis A virus in various types of water intended for human use (AquaVir or AqV)” - AquaVir originates from an EU-FP7 funded project, AquaVir, developing a virus sensor system for monitoring rotavirus, norovirus and hepatitis A virus in various types of water sources as a means of ensuring the safety of water supplies meant for human use and consumption. Contribution to standardization activities has been specified as one of the means for dissemination of the AquaVir research project results.

The aim of the Workshop is to develop a CEN Workshop Agreement (CWA) on a cost effective, on-site detection system, which is capable for monitoring rotavirus, norovirus and hepatitis A virus in different types of water. Therefore, a standard process which describes a detection system characterized by the before mentioned attributes shall be developed.

The workshop kicked-off in January 2016.

The workshop presents now its draft CWA “Water analysis — Virus sensor system — Monitoring rotavirus, norovirus and hepatitis A virus in various types of water intended for human use” for public review. Deadline for comments: 2016-09-30

Please send your comments to Mr Philipp Albrecht and to Mr Christopher Liedtke (WS 82 Secretariat).
