Construction products

The construction sector in CEN covers more than 3000 work items on product standards and test methods (for use in building and civil engineering).

Of these, about 600 European Standards are or will be harmonized under the Construction Products Regulation (CPR), along with about 1500 supporting standards (test methods).

By using harmonized standards, the manufacturer will be in position to make the declaration of performance (DoP) of his product as defined in the Construction Products Regulation (CPR) and to affix the CE marking.

Sector Forum

A Sector Forum is a platform aiming at facilitating the exchange of information between the different stakeholders, coordinating and identifying the standardization needs in a specific field of CEN work.

The CEN 'Construction Sector Forum' commonly called CEN Construction Sector Network was created in 1997 following a consultation with the CEN members, CEN/TCs, Industry, the EC and EFTA and some national authorities.

There is an open invitation to interested parties to express their interest in joining the CEN Construction Sector Network. In the first instance, please contact your national standards body.

European legislation and mandates

European Standards are developed in the context of European legislation and sometimes come in direct support to particular Directives or Regulations.
