In November 2008 a CEN Technical Committee, CEN/TC 389 'Innovation Management' was created in order to provide organizations with tools, in the form of standardization documents, to ensure a more systematic approach to innovation and optimize the planning and management of all aspects fostering their innovation capabilities.
The new SATORI Workshop relates to Innovation and therefore to the activities of CEN/TC 389.
The Workshop aims to develop an ethical impact assessment framework for research and innovatin that addresses the acceptability, sustainability and societal desirability of the innovation process and its marketable products.
The Workshop builts on and will further develop the challenges for ethics assessment as presented by the European Strategic Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI) (2006); the recent report on Ethical and Regulatory Challenges to Science and Research at the Global Level, the existing European framework for ethics review, recent publications on ethics of the research and innovation at the European level, and the notion of Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI).
The Workshop SATORI kick-off meeting will take place on 2015-09-17 in Brussels.
