Ships and marine technology – Specification for bunkering of methanol fuelled vessels

One of the main challenges with the increase in vessel operations in the Artic will be the corresponding increase in accidents, resulting in marine pollution from the oil fuel on-board.

The CEN CWA on 'Ships and marine technology – Specification for bunkering of methanol fuelled vessels' acts as a guideline for safe bunkering of methanol to vessels, a need that was identified by the International Maritime Organisation.

The Secretariat of the workshop is held by the Swedish Institute for Standards (SIS).

Following the kick-off meeting of 10 September 2019, the CWA Project Plan has been updated according to the comments received.
A first draft CWA 'Specification for Bunkering of Methanol' has been developed and is now available for commenting.
