On 6 October 2017, the first of two Workshops aiming to produce a Code of Conduct for licensing industry Standard Essential Patents (SEPs) for 5G/Internet of Things (IoT) applications was launched in Paris.
This Workshop, proposed by IP Europe and Nokia, reached at its recent meeting on 5 October agreement on a stable draft CWA which draft is now made available for public review and commenting until 31 December 2018 (note: date change). Comments can be submitted directly to the Workshop Secretary, Ms Melissa Jean, using the commenting form.
Comments received will be reviewed by the Workshop during January 2019. The consensus outcome of the Workshop will then be published as a CEN-CENELEC Workshop Agreement (CWA).
