Today’s busy motorways and roads are a challenge for road safety. In 2009, Europe counted 1.150.000 traffic accidents from which 35.000 persons died and 1,5 million were injured. The cost for European society is approximately 160 billion euro, representing 10% of all health care resources. Statistics show that at this rate, road traffic injuries could become the third highest cause of injury in Europe by 2020.

The implementation of EN 1317 and its requirements promotes greater safety for vulnerable road users such as passengers, motorcyclists, and cyclists in the event of impacts involving RRS. More...

Some insects and rodents cause severe damage to plants, crops, property and people's health. That is why they are called pests. Thank goodness for pest management companies to address this problem!

Pest management services includes a wide range of products, programmes and technologies designed to keep our  homes, schools, parks, restaurants etc. pest and disease-free, and guarantee safe food products.

CEN has created a new Project Committee, CEN/TC 404 'Project Committee - Services of pest management companies', in order to develop a European Standard specifying the requirements, recommendation and basic competences of pest management service companies. The standard should help increase the quality and professionalism of this sector and better meet the needs of private companies, public authorities and consumers. More...

'StandarDays' is a two day information session aimed at newcomers to European standardization, as well as those who would like to understand CEN and CENELEC better.

The info days give a clear and structured overview of the European Standardization System, of the CEN and CENELEC products and processes, as well as the benefits of involvement in European standardization to potential stakeholders.
