SME events hosted by CEN-CENELEC during the European SME Week:
CEN and CENELEC hosted two Webinars on 26 May and 27 May, covering:
- An introduction to CEN-CENELEC.
- An introduction to the European SME Helpdesk and the national network of SME standardization contacts.
- An explanation of the standardization system at the European level.
- A better understanding of the benefits of European standardization to SMEs and how SMEs can access and influence it.

Helping SMEs to implement eBusiness
The core task of the CEN Focus Group on eSME is to help SMEs in integrating E-Business/ E-Business-standards. The results of this group will be presented in an open seminar in Paris on 26 May 2010. Registration to the event is open.

ETAP Forum on Eco-Innovation
During the Eco-Innovation Forum in Bilbao, on 20 and 21 April 2010, concrete examples were presented of best experiences and best practices of how SMEs can respond to develop their niche in the economy. The intention was to elaborate recommendations for more effective government policies at the regional, national and European level. Participants included a number of specific SMEs together with policymakers, finance institutions, research institutions and relevant non-governmental organisations.
CEN-CENELEC was represented by Mike Low, the Chairman of the strategic SME-Working Group in the session on 'Standards and SMEs'.
