Certification

Certification is a third-party attestation related to products, processes, systems or persons (definition according to EN ISO/IEC 17000).

CEN has developed three certification systems:

  • Keymark
  • CEN Workshop Agreement (CWA) Certification Rules
  • CENCER Mark

These CEN certification systems are operated by certification bodies, empowered by CEN.
CEN is not a certification body.

The Certification Board of CEN is responsible for the CEN policies on certification and other conformity assessment issues. The Board consists of delegates from the CEN National Members, Associates and representatives from industry, laboratories and inspection bodies and acts in an advisory role to the Administrative Board of CEN.

CEOC International represents independent inspection and certification organizations in 20 countries.
