The Finnish Standardization body (SFS), the Finnish Petroleum Federation and CEN/TC 19 'Gaseous and liquid fuels, lubricants and related products of petroleum, synthetic and biological origin'will organise a conference on 27 May 2013 in Helsinki in order to discuss how European fuel standards will meet higher demand for renewables in transport fuels in the future.
This is already the fifth CEN/TC 19 conference giving participants the possibility to learn about standardization in the area of fuel specifications, its relationships with European Commission (EC) Directives and fuel quality monitoring and why choices for certain biofuels have been made. It will also give an outlook into the future for the many new alternative fuels to come such as pyrolysis oil or paraffinic diesel. Topical operability issues like diesel fuels in winter conditions are also on the agenda in this conference.
The conference will also include presentations on advanced solutions in Finland. These include CO2 based car taxation, CO2 and tailpipe emission based fuel taxation, large commercial scale HVO production as well as waste as feed-stock for renewable fuels.
The conference fee is 250 € (taxes excluded). The deadline for registration is 3 May 2013.
