To start a CEN Workshop

First contacts

It is recommended that contact is made with CEN, by contacting the CEN Management Centre's Innovation and Business Development Department via e-mail or by contacting a CEN National Member.

A CEN Workshop that enters the formal process for Workshop creation has to be described in the form of a document called the Workshop's Business Plan. It is recommended that a proposed Workshop is described by making use of the Business Plan template as early in the process as possible, to assist the discussions with CEN.

Funding the Workshop

The Workshop service offered by CEN has a cost, which has to be borne by the proposers, by individual participants, or sometimes by public authorities. The cost of the service will be the subject of a negotiation between CEN or a CEN Member and the Workshop proposers before the Workshop starts. Individual participants bear their own costs (e.g. travel, time).

The formal process

When the contents of the Business Plan in all its aspects has been agreed upon between CEN (CEN Management Centre and/or a CEN National Member) and the proposers (where necessary - following a preliminary review by the BT members), the kick-off meeting of the Workshop can be convened. This meeting has to be convened by minimum 60 days notice and requires the availability of the full Draft Business Plan.

The formal launch of the Workshop happens at a kick-off meeting subject to sufficient support for the Workshop's Business Plan and the successful allocation of the roles of Workshop Chair and Workshop Secretariat.
