The CEN-CENELEC ICT Forum

CEN, The European Committee for Standardization, and CENELEC, The European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization, have agreed to combine their strategic approach to standards work in the domain of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in the CEN-CENELEC ICT Forum.

The CEN-CENELEC ICT Forum has an advisory role and ensures transparency while handling of European standards needs.

The members of the forum are:

  • The CEN ICT rapporteur as Chairman;
  • one representative per CEN National Member (an alternate may also be designated;  either representative or alternate may come from outside stakeholders as opposed to Members’ staff);
  • one representative per CENELEC National Member where this is not the same as the CEN National Member (an alternate may also be designated;  either representative or alternate may come from outside stakeholders as opposed to Members’ staff);
  • Representatives of the CEN CENELEC Management Centre, which will provide a Secretary.

Additional Observer participants will be invited to attend;

  • European Commission (DGs Enterprise and Information Society);
  • EFTA Secretariat;
  • Chairmen of CEN and CENELEC TCs in the ICT domain (or their representatives);
  • Chairmen of current CEN and CENELEC Workshops in the ICT domain (or their representatives);
  • Chairmen of current CEN Focus Groups in the ICT domain (or their representatives);
  • NORMAPME and ANEC (Associate Members of CEN, Cooperating Partners of CENELEC);
  • European associations upon agreement by the Forum, such as Digital Europe, CEPIS.
