Activities

In order to fulfill its mission and meet its tasks and challenges, SABE has identified the following issues for further focus:

• Improve contact with the EC on a strategic level (SABE) as well as for specific mandates/tasks on the level of Teams or TCs. This includes the development of an action plan detailing concrete proposals regarding the communication with major stakeholders, selection of parties for targeted presentations, production of supporting promotional materials;

• Strengthen the relation within the CEN system: Technical Board, Administrative Committee (dealing with e.g. financial matters), Technical Committees and members. This action could address the visibility of the CEN/Environmental Helpdesk, further synchronization of CEN's environmental activities;

• Increase the activities of SABE by means of stimulating its members to become more pro-active. Since new initiatives on environment are mainly developed with the SABE Team structure, re-enforcement of the individual Teams should be promoted;

• Setting the priorities for new topics. The SABE Teams should clearly indicate which subjects they intend to work on or monitor and subsequently set priorities in their work programs.

SABE has a plenary meeting twice a year.

The next meeting will be held on 24 March 2011 in Brussels.
