To specify the actions required to draft a European Standard (EN) in accordance with the existing rules and plans, and to deliver it to the CEN-CENELEC Management Centre (CCMC).
The following procedure applies to the CEN Technical Committees (TC), the TC Secretaries, the Working Groups (WG), the WG Convenors, the TC Editing Committee and CCMC.
NOTE 1 If a CEN Member is confronted with a situation where it has to implement an EN that is not compliant with the legislation of its country, it can request an A-deviation, i.e. a derogation from the mandatory implementation of those requirements that are in contradiction with national legislation. See GD – National regulations – Possible conflict with CEN work for more information.
NOTE 2 When attempting to reach consensus on the technical content of an EN, TCs need to recognise that more than one technical solution might exist. If this is the case, please consult GD – Technical diversity within European Standards.
NOTE 3 See GD - Graphical symbols for information related to the preparation and the acceptance of all new graphical symbols to be used in ENs.
NOTE 4 For some economic sectors, it might be useful to develop additional requirements and/or specific guidance on the implementation of EN ISO 9001. See GD – Additional requirements to EN ISO 9001 for more information.
NOTE 5 For detailed guidance and the CEN policy on product standards and conformity assessment, consult GD - Product standards and conformity assessment and CEN Guide 4: Guide for addressing environmental issues in product standards. |
