3.1  The Vice-President Technical:

  • monitors the technical work of CEN on behalf of the President
  • represents CEN in external fora when policy oriented technical matters are discussed
  • arbitrates on technical matters to settle disputes and to resolve problem areas on request of the President's Coordination Group
  • chairs the Technical Board (BT)
  • participates in the President's Coordination Group

3.2  The Vice-President Policy:

  • develops policies in cooperation with the Secretary General for Administrative Board (CA) and/or AG decision
  • executes matters of political nature as mandated by the CA and/or President's Coordination Group
  • assists the President in performance of external affairs
  • deputizes for the President as needed and chairs the CA in the absence of the President
  • chairs the CA Consultative Committee External Policy
  • participates in the President's Coordination Group

3.3  The Vice-President Finance:

  • monitors the financial and overall budgetary matters of CEN on behalf of the President
  • arbitrates on financial settlements with CEN members and acts, on behalf of CEN in discussions with EU and EFTA
  • coordinates, with CEN National Members, their obligations to resource the CEN System in accordance with agreed plans
  • chairs the CA Consultative Committee Financial Affairs
  • participates in the President's Coordination Group

4. Rights

4.1  As Vice-President, has no voting rights at AG and CA

NOTE: As the Vice-Presidents may also represent their NSBs, they may only vote on behalf of their NSB

4.2  To intervene with a casting vote in case of equal division of votes when acting as Chairperson
