3. Responsibilities

The following powers are expressly reserved to the General Assembly:

3.1  The organisation, powers and operating and decision making process of the Administrative Board (including appointment and removal of the President, the Vice-Presidents and the other Administrative Board members) on the one hand and the Presidential Committee on the other hand.

3.2  The organisation, powers and operating and decision making process of the Director General.

3.3  The existence and the powers of the CEN-CENELEC Management Centre and their position vis-ả-vis the other bodies of the association, without prejudice to article 35, 2nd paragraph, of the CEN statutes.    
3.4  Authorises membership in accordance with the statutes The Statutes of CEN, Article 18 (PDF - EFD)
3.5  Considers and rules upon appeals against Technical Board (BT) or CA decisions (see also process 'Appeal mechanism') Internal Regulations - Part 2,  7

4. Rights

4.1  Voting rights are restricted to CEN National Members (1 member/1 vote)  The Statutes of CEN, Article 21 (PDF - EFD)
4.2  Casting vote may be exercised by the Chairperson The Statutes of CEN, Article 21 (PDF - EFD)

4.3  Simple majority voting except in the case of proposals for:

a) admission as CEN National Member or as an affiliate when a unanimous decision is required,
b) changes to the statutes or to the internal regulations, and for admission as an associate when a two-thirds majority is required

6. Method of appointment/Review
CEN National Members and associates are permanent members of the AG for as long as they retain their appropriate status. Other bodies are invited to participate as observers. The Statutes of CEN, Articles 6 and 16 (PDF - EFD)   
7. Mode of working

7.1  An ordinary AG must take place once a year. This takes the form of a meeting for statutory decisions with an associated open conference.  The Statutes of CEN, Article 18 (PDF - EFD)

7.2  An extraordinary general meeting may be convened by the CA on the written request of two CEN National Members acting jointly. The Statutes of CEN, Article 19 (PDF - EFD)
7.3  The CA is the representative of the AG and acts as its executive. The Statutes of CEN, Articles 25 and 27 (PDF - EFD)
