An organization representative, at European level, of particular social or economic interests, whose statutes are governed by European legislation or national legislation of one of the CEN National Members' countries

3. Responsibilities

3.1  Commits to the development and promotion of European standardization

The Statutes of CEN, Articles 6.3

3.2  Commits to comply with rules set by the Statutes of CEN, including financial obligations as decided by the AG

3.3  Keeps CMC fully informed of any changes in its organization and provides any other relevant information

                             
4. Rights

4.1  To participate, without voting rights, in the AG, open sessions of the Administrative Board (CA), Technical Board (BT), Sector Activities, and CEN Certification Board (CCB)

4.2  As a member of the BT, to apply for and hold TC secretariats under defined conditions and upon signature of a Service Level Agreement (SLA) with CMC

6. Method of appointment/Review

6.1  Written application to the CEN Secretary General

The Statutes of CEN, Article 7.2 (PDF - EFD)

6.2  Appointed by the AG at the majority of three-quarters of the national members present or represented, an abstention not being counted as a vote.

Procedure - Application for the status of (Candidate) Associate

6.3  The status of Associate can be lost by dissolution, discontinuity, resignation or exclusion.
