Background
eBIF was launched in 2005 to serve as the European platform for considering interoperability solutions related to eBusiness, and making strategic recommendations on standardization activities required to achieve this. Current participants include IT vendors, end-users from industry, SME representatives, public administrations, the European Commission, and representatives of key standards consortia.
Since the launch of eBIF much has been achieved and many things have changed. In order to enable eBIF to optimally support its stakeholders within the new context, its role and position are under review. One of the outcomes may be that from 2010 onwards eBIF acts as a coordination group on eBusiness in support of the CEN-CENELEC ICT Forum.
