This part of the CEN BOSS provides information on specific organisational areas, which may be bodies involving a group of individuals or individuals themselves, that together contribute to the development of policy, and the management and operation of the CEN System.
Two organisational charts show the interaction between those organisational areas.
The first one involves the key contributors to and the wider environment within which the CEN System operates.
The second one provides an overview of the main committees within the CEN System.
A third organisational chart provides an overview of the CEN-CENELEC Management Centre and its departments.
Who's Who
A "profile" has been developed for each of the organisational areas which includes, as appropriate, the role or definition of that area, its reporting line, responsibilities and rights, its composition, method of appointment and review of its membership, and the means through which the organisational area works.
These profiles (see index) are not intended to provide a detailed description of tasks but rather to give a broad understanding of the scope and context in which each organisational area works. Specific functions will be found in the details of the management, production and support processes and the guidance material which form other parts of CEN BOSS.
Wherever relevant, information in the profiles is accompanied by a link to a reference document which remains the formal authoritative text for the information in question or a link to guidance documents which provide details on tasks to be achieved by an organisational area for a specific part of its work.
